How to classify WebGUI? You could call it a plugable open source webapplication framework with content management capabilities. Due to the open source character of WebGUI, the development of your website will cost less money. Your WebGUI website gives you the ability to add simple and fast text, files and interactive components to your site. Just as easily they can be removed again. This way keeping your website up to date becomes a piece of cake. A further expansion of your website is quickly arranged by Oqapi through reusal of existing open source software.
Content Management System
A content management system or CMS enables you to change your website in the browser. No difficult procedures using html, ftp or something else. Content can be inserted in an editor in the browser.
WebGUI supports versioning. This means that WebGUI stores all changes such that, if necessary, old versions of a text can be recovered.
Next to that, changes are only made visible to visitors of your site if you choose to. This makes it possible to reconstruct your entire site without noticed by the visitors of the current site. As soon as the changes are comlete, you make this new content public by only one click.
WebGUI uses a workflow system which can be configured easily. A workflow system enables for example the approval of new content by managers before publication. You yourself chooses in how many steps this workflow system is configured. But WebGUI offers even a lot more...
Plugable
WebGUI is easily expanded. On almost each place in the system some plugin-points are provided. A plugin is a piece of software that handles a certain, defined task. For example an authentication plugin ensures that the login and password given by the users, is checked with a predefined system. In case your website uses a system which is not standard supported by WebGUI, you can make a plugin yourself, or let us do that for you.
All applications within WebGUI are plugins themselves, and this way Oqapi can use webapplications which fit perfectly to your problem. Because of the powerfull and multi-purpose plugins delivered together with WebGUI, often there is no need for custom content applications.
Next to this, lots of plugin-points exists like macro's (to insert dynamical texts inside normal text), graphics plugins (to make customized graphs), plugin points for the webshop system which enables WebGUi to integrate with your own backend (but a WebGUI version of this is of course also available) or to choose your favorite shipment or transportation company, and which even gives you the opportunity to use your favorite payment gateway.
