For an ICT company Oqapi often develops software to enhance websites or applications. We do not like to reinvent the wheel thus we use the existing components of WebGUI or exisiting source code wherever possible, and change it or rewrite it to meet the clients demands. This way of working is better for the client and therefore better for us. The development time is significantly shorter compared to building from scratch, so the costs are reduced.
Oqapi performed several technical implementations for this ICT company and developed many SQL-reports. The SQL-report is one of the most useful components of WebGUI which enables us to link, edit and show data from databases as a webpage. Using SQL-reports we made, next to some standard specific seach pages, statistics or overviews, applications where professionals are linked to their specialisme based on information in their profile.
WebGUI offers a lot of plugin points so we developed some custom plugins for this ICT company. One of these plugins shows information from a database on the user profile, another consisted of an email notification process, yet another makes it possible for users to show information from a central repository on their own webpage. We also wrote plugins to show tips based on certain criteria and made a product selector such that the site-owner can show product data through the use of an Excelsheet. Lots of plugins are written, fulfilling the many different demands our clients might have.
