March 2007 Rory started working at Oqapi. Whoever calls Oqapi has a big chance to get Rory on the line. Rory is a cheerful guy who is programming WebGUI with big enthousiasm. At this moment, Rory writes scripts and makes websites in WebGUI.
Experience
Rory studies at the MBO Technical Informatics and started programming static websites in 2000. Soon he discovered the dynamic tools and currently he develops websolutions in PHP/ MySQL. He was responsible for building a custom management dashboard, wrote XML processing scripts and knows the ins and outs of amchart processing.
Currently Rory is at his last year of studying Information services and management at the The Hague school for higher education. As an IDMer he knows how to manage an intranet or digital library and his knowledge of taxonomies comes in handy for tagging. Finding the relevant information in many different ways is one of the properties of an IDMer as well.
Presentations
Rory gave a presentation about 'Extreme Articles' at the WebGUI Users Conference (WUC) 2008. This year, Rory paid a visit to the Perl conference YAPC in Lissabon and presented at the WUC 2009 in Madison about 'WebGUI programming'.
Rory's passions
In his free time Rory travels as often as possible for new impressions and making nice pictures. Photografie is one of his hobbys, as well as diving. Adventurous as he is, he likes snowboarding and mountainbiking as well.
